Social Issues That Is Underrated

Social Issues That Is UnderratedSocial issues have been and will continue to be a critical component of our society for decades to come. For this reason, they must be addressed immediately. The next generation has the most to lose with respect to these issues. Unless we address social issues, they will continue to plague our society for many more years to come. There are many social issues that the government has failed to deal with effectively. These include but are not limited to, the proliferation of pornography in our society, the underachievement of minorities in schools, the dearth of opportunities for women and minorities, and the value that people place on marriage and family as opposed to relationships with others. These are all very real issues that have a direct impact on the quality of life for our children.Because so many of the social issues affecting our children are the result of government failure, there is little that government can do to resolve them. However, that does not mean that we should stop doing anything. What we need to do is educate the public on the causes of these issues. If the public is aware of the causes, then it will be much easier to find a solution to the issue at hand. One of the most overlooked social issues is the need for men to commit to their relationship. When a man commits to his commitment, he is showing that he cares about his woman and family. If we can get more men to commit to their relationship, then we will solve our problems with respect to the overachievement of minority students. We must also address the underachievement of women with respect to education. Our sexual liberation and permissive attitude towards sex are another issue that plagues our youth. A few people would say that this issue is caused by the fact that young people are getting to the age where they should be married and having families. If this were the case, then we could simply change the social attitudes that encourage people to get too m uch sex too soon and we would solve the problem. The other most important issue is the unemployment rate among minority youth. There are many myths that are attributed to this issue. If we can get more of our young people to commit to their jobs, then we will solve our educational problem.Ignoring the fact that our children suffer from lower educational achievement than their white counterparts and that half of all the teens involved in a car wreck have a gun in their possession is completely wrong. So many people want to blame teenagers for this issue, but it is a larger societal problem. To resolve social issues like the ones described above, we must first address them in a positive manner. We need to let people know about the problems and let them see that we do not intend to neglect the problem. As a society, we need to ask ourselves what we really want.
